Subject: Poor Interface
Subject: Poor Interface
I completely agree with pearlware - since the revamp, books on archive.org have become much more difficult to navigate. When a book opens you have to click on a page edge to go somewhere. I just spent more time than I should have trying to get to the cover of this volume. It took 17 clicks. Yes, you can click on the magnifying glass icon and that brings up a larger image with a page slider, but that's not intuitive and there are no instructions. Why isn't there a Go To Page box, so I could type in 42 and - zoom, zowie - it would take me there? My Cardinal Rule of Coding: JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN DO SOMETHING DOES NOT MEAN SHOULD SHOULD DO SOMETHING. Sorry folks, just one star.

City directories=awesome.
Search function= not awesome.
Prior to the redesign of Archive.org, full text versions of most SF city directories were available. These were much better fro quick searches than the PDF versions---anyone know how to access those older files??
